J. Mack Robinson College of Business
Kenneth J. Levine has over 25 years of experience teaching, researching and presenting on topics related to organizational communication and small group dynamics. He has been on the faculties of Illinois State University, Emerson College, the University of Tennessee and Michigan State University. Dr. Levine has expertise in intergenerational workplace communication, workplace socialization, organizational culture, climate and change, diversity, superior-subordinate communication, and workplace stress and conflict. He also works with groups and business organizations to improve the effectiveness of brainstorming as well as to increase the productivity and creativity of interacting groups. Before earning his Ph.D. in Communication, Dr. Levine was a litigator for a law firm in Cleveland, Ohio and a political campaign manager, and he brings these experiences to his discussions about the interactions among communication, law and politics.
Dr. Levine has been a speaker for such organizations as the American Association of Physicists in Medicine; the Central Michigan Public Relations Society of America; the East Lansing Rotary Club; Michigan State University’s Business and Bagels; Leadership Lansing; the Capitol Area District Library (Lansing, MI); Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce; The Facility for Rare Isotope Beans; The International Association of Fairs and Expositions; the Knoxville Bar Association, and the IEEE Workshop on "The Future of Information.” He has published in such scholarly journals as Communication Monographs, American Behavioral Scientist, Journal of Adolescent Research and Media Psychology and has given presentation at such conferences as the National Communication Association, the International Communication Association, and the Academy of Management. He has directed 3 dissertation and 7 master’s theses and has served on numerous graduate committees.
