Colonel Ken DeTreux, USMC is a proud Philadelphia native. He is a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and Temple University. He has served as a career infantry officer for the past thirty years in the Marine Corps. During his highly decorated career, he has had the privilege of commanding units at every level from a platoon of forty-two Marines as a 2nd Lieutenant to an Infantry Regiment of over 4,500 Marines and sailors as a Colonel. His career has taken him around the world to fifty-two countries across six Continents. He has deployed abroad ten times, both in peacetime and conflict with multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Among his career highlights, Colonel DeTreux was most recently the mission commander for the successful evacuation of the diplomatic mission out of the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, Libya, in July 2014. After twelve previous duty stations around the country, his final assignment has landed him back home as the Commanding Officer/Professor of Naval Science, for the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC), Philadelphia Consortium, which includes Villanova University. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts, Criminal Justice, from Temple University and a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, PA.
