Berkeley Engineering Executive & Professional Education

As the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership’s Positive Psychology fellow, Dr. Gatto focuses his research and teaching on the intersection of Innovation, Leadership and Positive Psychology. He works extensively with Silicon Valley experts on the application of positive psychology to organizational cultures. Dr. Gatto has taught undergraduate, graduate and executive education courses on leadership and team building, the psychology of leadership, technology leadership, business ethics, human relations in the workplace, and the psychology of success. He is the recipient of a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, a Master of Education in psychology from Cambridge College, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and marketing from Villanova University as well as numerous post-graduate certificates.

Before pursuing a career in higher education, Dr. Gatto was employed in account management, corporate training, and marketing communications roles for such companies as Vanguard, CIGNA, and MFS Investment Management. He presently serves as an International Consultant to the Latin American Center for Applied Positive Psychology as an editor for their journal, and as a Scientific Advisory Board Member for Life Lab, a Paris-based training and advisory company whose mission is to help entrepreneurs prevent burnout and depression using positive psychology and mindfulness.
