Katherine Berry

Overview

I am a health service researcher and clinical psychologist specialising in the field of psychosis. I have over 15 years of experience in research investigating the psychological mechanisms underlying the development of psychosis and in the development, delivery and evaluation of psychological interventions to improve health outcomes for people with psychosis. I am currently a Senior Clinical Lecturer and a member of staff on the Manchester Clinical Psychology Training Programme. I supervise both postgraduate and undergraduate research projects related to my own programme of research and collaborate on funded research projects. I teach on postgraduate and undergraduate courses within the University in addition to external teaching at other Universities and in the NHS. 

Biography

After completing my PhD exploring the relevance of attachment theory in psychosis, I obtained an NIHR funded fellowship to develop and evaluate an intervention to improve staff-patient relationships in inpatient settings.  I qualified as a clinical psychologist prior to starting my PhD and have continued to practice as a clinical psychologist alongside my research.
