Co-Head | UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy and Finance

Karsten Löffler has been co-head of the UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance (Centre) of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management gGmbH since 2017. From 1989 to 2017, he worked for the Allianz Group (Dresdner Bank, Allianz Global Investors), most recently as Managing Director of Allianz Climate Solutions, the Group’s internal innovation hub for integrating climate change-related opportunities and risks into its global business strategy. Karsten Löffler is a certified international investment analyst (CIIA), a member of the steering committee of the Sustainability 2030 science platform, represents the cluster in the EU Commission’s Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance and chairs the Sustainable Finance Advisory Council to the German Government. Since December 2017, he has been a member of the cluster’s management board. He is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Oikocredit U.A.
