Cork University Business School

Justin Doran is Director of the Spatial and Regional Economics Research Centre and a lecturer in the Department of Economics, Cork University Business School, University College Cork. His research interests lie in the areas of regional economics, economic resilience, applied and spatial econometrics, business innovation and firm performance. has published over 30 peer reviewed academic articles in such highly ranked journals as Environment and Planning A, Regional Studies, and the Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society among others. Justin is the 2018 recipient of the Moss Madden Memorial Medal which is awarded by the Regional Science Association International - British and Irish Section to the author of the best article on regional science published in a particular calendar year. Justin received this award for his article on regional economic resilience published in Environment and Planning A available . He features in Research Papers in Economics' (RePEc) ranking of top Irish economists based on publications in the past ten years. Justin also won the Early Career Researcher of the Year Award for UCC in 2018. Justin's work has been cited more than 550 times and he has a h-index of 13 on Google Scholar. He is Secretary of the Regional Science Association International - British and Irish Section is the current Chair of the Regional Studies Association - Irish Branch. Within UCC Justin serves on the University's Social Research Ethics Committee.
