Biography

As founder of JN Medsys, Johnson aims to empower next generation genomics by developing innovative products and making them accessible to more people. He is passionate about creating value for society by developing useful products in the areas of life science and medical technology, with the purpose of improving peoples’ lives.

Johnson has more than 10 years of experience in developing innovative platforms for nucleic acid testing and PCR-based diagnostics. Prior to founding JN Medsys, he was the project manager of the local biomedical device start-up Biochip Devises, where he helped build the company from scratch and co-invented a device for rapid point-of-care diagnostics of infectious disease. As part of his doctoral thesis, he invented an addressable bead-based microarray technique that is now being commercialised by Ayoxxa, an NUS spin-off company. Johnson holds a B.Eng (First Class Honours) and Ph.D in Bioengineering from the National University of Singapore.

When not working, Johnson enjoys sports. Above all, he loves spending time with his family, and enjoys being tired out by his two young and extremely energetic daughters.
