Biography

Jochen Hauff combines over 25 years of international experience in renewable energy, corporate sustainability and energy policy work.
During his career as a management consultant for Kearney based out of Berlin and Warsaw, he advised international utilities & industry players in strategic and organizational topics, mostly focused on energy. Since 2008, his work is fully focused on renewable energy & corporate sustainability. In this role, he managed the implementation of Kearney’s own “carbon pledge” to reach carbon emission reductions and full compensation by 2010, apart from advising clients on sustainability & renewable energy strategies.
Joining BayWa r.e. in 2014, he implemented a restructuring program as interim Managing Director of three BayWa r.e. subsidiaries in the German solar wholesale market. Since 2015, he is in charge of strategy and energy policy for BayWa r.e. group, globally, defining the corporate Roadmap of BayWa r.e. and its growth in global renewable energy markets. He took responsibility for Corporate Sustainability in 2017 and implemented a carbon reduction & compensation program by 2018 as well as an ongoing ESG action plan.
Jochen serves as elected Vice President of SolarPowerEurope in Brussels and is a faculty member of the Renewable Energy Management Program at University of St. Gallen.
He holds a German “Diploma” degree in Economics from Tübingen University and a MSc in Environmental Science & Policy from Central European University, Budapest. He has studied for a year in the US at University of Washington, Seattle and completed Polish language classes at Warsaw University
