Jennifer Martineau

President and Founder of Leap & Inspire Global / Adjunct Professor at High Point University

Biography

I have committed my career to helping individuals and organizations improve through leadership development. During my 26 years at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), I brought my expertise in research, evaluation, coaching, facilitation, and consulting to leaders as they were advancing in their careers, and to organizations that were transforming their cultures. Early in my career, I created CCL’s first standardized impact evaluation assessment, REFLECTIONSTM, which measured behavior change and early signs of organizational impact as a result of attending a leadership development program. I also led CCL’s efforts to establish an award-winning evaluation practice that partners with clients to design leadership development from an outcome-centered approach, resulting in high impact leadership development initiatives that create significant ROI. I co-authored the first edition of Evaluating the Impact of Leadership Development and co-edited and authored The Handbook of Leadership Development Evaluation. This background led me to lead multi-million-dollar organization transformation initiatives with clients – truly exciting work!

Along my career path, I experienced both the challenges and support that many non-traditional leaders (women, Black/Indigenous/People of Color, members of the LGBTQIA community) face as they climb the ladder. In my role on CCL’s executive team for over 7 years, I took special interest in identifying and addressing those challenges and barriers for others as I carried out typical executive duties including strategy, planning, board management, and team leadership. My interest in the lack of women in senior level leadership roles resulted in CCL’s point of view Ready to R.I.S.E. and the successful book Kick Some Glass: Ten Ways Women Succeed at Work on Their Own Terms. I became a certified facilitator for CCL’s Women’s Leadership Experience program, also coaching and facilitating women in client organizations. I was excited to become executive sponsor and interim practice lead for CCL’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) practice, focusing on enriching CCL’s portfolio to address issues of EDI, developing all of CCL’s staff – regardless of their role – to better understand and address issues of EDI, and revising CCL’s HR practices and policies through an EDI lens.

Awed by the richness of diversity across our globe, I relished in working with clients in China, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Australia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Italy, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the mainland US, as well as with individuals from many other countries.

I have a B.A. in psychology from North Carolina State University and an M.S. and PhD in Industrial/Organizational psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. My husband, Jim, and I live in Greensboro, North Carolina and enjoy any time we can spend with our adult children, Sarah (and her husband Chase), Chris, and Grace, and their dogs Linus, Jaxson, and Finley.

I am honored to bring all of my capabilities to Leap & Inspire Global, and eager to partner with you as a coach, facilitator, or consultant as you take your own leap and inspire yourself and others to new possibilities!
