Iza Lejárraga is Head of Investment Policy Linkages Unit in the Investment Division of the Directorate for Financial and Enterprise Affairs of the OECD, where she currently leads analytical work on trade and investment, regional trade agreements, connectivity, and inclusive growth. During her tenure at the OECD, Iza previously served as Senior Economist at the Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, and Local Development and Trade Policy Analyst at the Trade and Agriculture Directorate, contributing to studies on SMEs, regional trade agreements, services trade, global value chains, and transparency. Before joining the OECD in 2010, Iza worked as a trade economist for the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and the Organization of American. As a trade policy specialist, Iza has worked on a wide variety of trade-related knowledge products and capacity-building programs, and has provided technical and analytical support to trade negotiation processes such as the Free Trade Area of the Americas, Economic Partnership Agreements, and bilateral trade negotiations. She holds an advanced degree in economics and international development from Harvard University, and has been a post-graduate Visiting Scholar and Teaching Fellow at the Harvard Center for International Development. She has been invited to teach short courses on trade and investment at the European University Institute, the World Trade Institute, and the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
