Biography

Ishita Tripathi has earned her PhD from Louisiana State University, USA in 2019. She has obtained MS in Quantitative Economics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata in 2012 and BSc (Economics Hons.) from the St. Xavier's College, Kolkata in 2009. From 2012 to 2014, she worked as a Research Associate in the Srini Raju Centre for IT and the Networked Economy (SRITNE) and Centre for Economics and Public Policy at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Her research interests lie in topics from applied microeconomics, specifically in cultural economics, political economics, crime, law and economics. She focuses in understanding how various socio-economic factors can shape an individual’s perception. In her PhD thesis, she studied how exposure to violent environment can influence one’s beliefs and preferences.
