Biography

Mr. Pakciarz is a founding partner and CEO of Bigsur Partners (a wealth management boutique) and has over twenty-five years of experience in wealth and asset management, working for some of the most prestigious firms in the industry. Ignacio was named to the Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list for 2022.

Before founding BigSur Partners in 2007, he was a Managing Director at Guggenheim Investment Advisors, where he was responsible for overseeing family-office client relationships. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Pakciarz was Managing Director for Private Wealth Management (PWM) at Deutsche Bank in New York. As the Head of Latin America Product Management, Mr. Pakciarz was responsible for investment advisory and product strategy for Latin American high net worth clients.

From 1996 to 2001, Mr. Pakciarz was Vice President, PWM at JP Morgan in New York, responsible for the Global Investment Advisory Team for Latin American clients. From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Pakciarz was a Portfolio manager for Citibank’s mutual funds in Uruguay.

Mr. Pakciarz is a member of the NYU Stern Executive Board. He previously served as a Board Member of Reaching U (a foundation dedicated to providing education opportunities for underprivileged youth in Uruguay), and as a Professor of Investment Management & Analysis at Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is a long distance tri-athlete and participates in Ironman competitions. He completed the 2012 Ironman Texas and the 2013 Ironman Austria.

Mr. Pakciarz earned an Economics degree from the University of Uruguay (1992), and a MBA in Finance from New York University (1996).
