Social science methodology, causal modeling, taxometric analysis of addiction, risk and time preference elicitation, causes and course of disordered gambling.

Current Empirical Work in Progress

Principle Investigator, Two year longitudinal study of disordered gambling in a South Africansample using both survey and experimental economic assessment of risk and time attitudes andinteraction with socioeconomic factors. Funded by the National Research Foundation for Problem Gambling.Experimental assessment of risk attitudes and sociodemographic factors in a poor communitysample of 400 Xhosa speakers, funded by the SA National Research Foundation.Disordered gambling in illegal gambling venues in an urban South African, population. Funded by the National Research Foundation for Problem Gambling, South AfricaRisk and time attitudes and related variables in South African fruit farmers. Funded by NationalResearch Foundation of South Africa.
