Erica Ingram

Erica Ingram is an MGM candidate at Thunderbird School of Global Management, similar to an MBA, but with a focus on international communities. She has extensive experience in Asia and is interested in pursuing a career in international relations. Prior to pursuing her graduate degree, she was a Peace Corps volunteer in China from 2017-2019 teaching English at Chongqing University in Chongqing, China. In addition to working with university students, she helped establish a free school for elementary-age children in 10 low-income families and secured over $4000 in grant funding. She edited 10 English textbooks to be used at the school and established an annual English learning summer camp. As a result of her service, she achieved a Peace corps certificate in Cross-cultural education. During her service, she worked with a team of 20 other Peace Corps volunteers to establish a 10-day teacher training camp in the summer of 2018 with about 200 Chinese adult professionals. Despite an earthquake and subsequent flood, she and her team were able to successfully complete the camp and present results to the Chinese Board of Education who awarded her and her team with a certificate of achievement for adapting during an environmental crisis. In addition to her professional achievements, Erica is also conversational in Spanish and Mandarin and has technical skills in creative writing, the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher, lightroom), and the Microsoft Office suite. She was a graphic artist and contributing writer to the Gender Empowerment and Women’s Equality newsletter and contributing writer to Peace Corps’ Rice Paper publication. Her goal in the future is to pursue a career in foreign relations/ foreign service as she believes that foreign diplomacy is critical in the current world. She feels most fulfilled when she is communicating with and serving others in need.
