Biography
Eli T. Brown is an Assistant Professor in the College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) at DePaul University, where his teaching is based in the Predictive Analytics Program. His current research continues the focus of his PhD from Tufts University, on leveraging the best of both visualization and machine learning for data analysis. He emphasizes developing applications with domain experts in journalism, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), biology and medical informatics.
After graduating from Cornell University, Brown worked as a software engineer for five years, including on government research contracts in software security for GrammaTech Inc., and developing a product line for sensor data collection and synchronization with high-speed video for Xcitex, Inc. He has consulted as a web engineer and also in data science and engineering for Evolv Technology.
