Elena Cargnello

Elena Cargnello is Corporate Director of Marketing and has corporate (all regions) responsibility for long- and short-term business strategies and oversees implementation. She brings almost 20 years of experience leading and managing international projects to drive global business and marketing initiatives in large-scale organizations and SMEs (both public and private companies) across multiple geographies.

She joined EY (Ernst&Young) in 2009 as a senior advisor in public finance management, advising Corporates, Universities, Governments and International Organizations, then she has held several senior roles in marketing, communications, business development and knowledge management across industries and sectors.

From 2003 to 2009 Elena worked at the European Parliament as Head of Office and Senior Policy Advisor to MEP, former Italian Foreign Affairs Minister, where she was responsible for providing consulting services in government and regulatory affairs, particularly in the field of Financial Services, Industrial Affairs and Foreign Policy.

In addition, Elena is currently teaching (MN1178) Business and Management in a Global Context at the London School of Economics/University of London BSc Undergraduate Programme in Economics, Management, Finance and the Social Sciences. Elena is a former Adjunct Professor of EU Structural and Investment Funds at the University of Florence as well as she has been Visiting Professor in international training projects (Myanmar, Armenia), appointed by the MENA-OECD Governance Programme Centre (National School of Public Administration within the Prime Minister's office) and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Elena graduated in 2002, summa cum laude and academic blessings, gaining a Master's Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, specialization in International Economic Relations, at the University of Trieste (Italy). In 2005 she received a postgraduate Degree (DES) in Law and Politics of the European Union at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). She also attended a postgraduate course with final examination in Monetary Economics and Banking at the University of California, San Diego (USA) and attended Executive Training in Business Communication at the LUISS Business School, Rome (Italy) and in Social Knowledge Management and Community Management at the Knowledge Management Institute, London (UK).
