ILR School

Dan is an expert in workplace negotiation, mediation, arbitration, facilitation, teaching, organizational conflict, team building, leadership and change management. As Practice Leader and Director of the Labor Relations Programs, Dan is responsible for developing and teaching professional education programs in negotiations, conflict resolution, collective bargaining, contract administration, team building, leadership, change management, arbitration and labor and employee relations for professionals working for unions and employers in the United States, Europe and Latin America.

Dan has taught and facilitated dozens of management and union teams (both together and separately) on all aspects of collective bargaining and contract administration, with a particular emphasis on developing and executing an effective bargaining and negotiating strategy and the skills of an effective negotiator.

The open-enrollment programs at Cornell NYC consist of Certificate Programs in: Collective Bargaining; Advanced Collective Bargaining; Contract Administration; and Arbitration. While Dan has taught all of the classes in all of the certificates, his current instructional focus is: Advanced Negotiations; Negotiating with Difficult People; Costing; Collective Bargaining; and Managing and Supervising in a Union Environment.
