Cynthia is an integrative health and wellness coach, registered dietitian and diabetes educator.

Cynthia Moore MS, RDN, CDE, c-IAYT, NBC-HWC- Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Educator/Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, Duke-certified Integrative Health Coach, Emotional Brain Training provider, and Yoga Therapist.

Cynthia has worked in many areas of nutrition ranging from inpatient care and clinical leadership, part time nutrition faculty with medical, osteopathic and undergraduate college settings, to researcher, and spa/clinic/culinary nutritionist in a 5-star setting. She loves working in integrative whole person care and diabetes prevention and has also served in pediatric, adult and geriatric care capacities. Her academic training includes an undergraduate degree from San Diego State University, dietetic internship at the Medical College of Virginia, master’s in nutrition science from University of California, Davis and graduate counseling classes. She’s had a longstanding interest in functional nutrition, integrative therapeutics and effective health behavior change. She is a fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

She found the new profession of health coaching in 2008, trained in integrative health coaching at Duke in 2010, 2012, and served as primary initial faculty for the Georgetown University’s health and wellness coaching program. She’s a long-time student and practitioner of yoga and other mind-body skills including meditation. She became a certified yoga therapist in 2017 and a board-certified health and wellness coach in 2020.

Currently Cynthia has a private practice in nutrition and health coaching in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she offers Nourishing Resilience trainings, individual and group programs such as the 8-weeks towards wellness, developed while she was at the University of Virginia. She is the author of Live, Love, Lead: 10 simple skills to transform stress and co-author of Nourishing Resilience Essentials, to be published in 2021. She is a co-founder of the Hygeia Wellness Park.

Cynthia has presented research posters at the IOC annual meeting (first prize poster in 2019), AADE annual meeting, and the AND annual meeting (innovation award in 2014). She's been a presenter for scientific sessions and Fortune 500 companies.
