Biography

A premier developer of computer simulations for business and education, Craig holds an MBA and BS from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Craig has been a full-time tenured member of the business faculty at Normandale Community College since 1988, an Adjunct Instructor at the Carlson School of Management since 2006 and has taught courses in the following content areas: Statistics, Accounting, Marketing, Marketing Research, Advanced Excel and Access (with VBA), Visual Basic, Computer Accounting Systems, and Small Business Management. He has been honored with numerous teaching awards including multiple Golden Apple Awards from Normandale’s Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

In 2004 Craig was selected as a NISOD (National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development) Scholar - a national recognition program directed toward teachers at US two-year colleges based at the University of Texas. In 2006 he was selected by the state student leadership (Minnesota Community College Student Association) as the Minnesota Instructor of the Year. In 2007 he was an inaugural recipient of The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustee’s Award. He has been invited to publish and present at 11 State, Regional, National, and International conferences related to selection, development, deployment, and assessment of simulation and gaming tools. General interest stories about Craig’s simulation based teaching have appeared in the Minneapolis Tribune, Community College Times, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Magazine, Creating Futures, and The Lions Roar (Normandale’s student newspaper).

Craig has also developed many custom business simulations for industry. His “games” include, MagFib, The GizmoWorks, The Pi House, FarmCo, BumperCrops, Dusty’s Disco, AgriBu Dupont, CapBud Monte, Poker Supply, Super Pila, CraigCo, Gidi-Up, FIBIT, SuperChem, CarpetGuardPlus, Alco, FimHups, The Car Wash, GixMix, SimLife,Thumpers, FINTUT,CRC (with CEVAT), and BatTastik! These products have been used for executive and professional development, forecasting, and decision support applications throughout the world. Craig has facilitated hundreds of corporate development workshops for professional and technical employees that enable them to better understand the financial impact of business decisions and strategy for companies such as 3M, Imation, Land O’ Lakes, Great River Technologies, Spell Capital Management, TeamWorks and Team Industries.

Panoptics creates competitively superior, analytic planning tools for business owners and executive decision makers. Craig’s business and financial expertise, combined with his superior systems and computer programming capabilities, bring an unrivaled level of expertise to computer simulation technology.

Panoptics has published The SimSeries (SimSales, SimSales Management, SimMarketing Research, SimMarketing Management, and SimCRM) and the MY Mentor Series (Accounting applications) with the McGraw-Hill Company. These teaching simulations are currently being used at colleges and universities throughout the world.
