Christian Landau

Christian Landau is the Dean of the EBS Business School since 1 February 2019. Prior to this, he has served as Vice-Dean Education starting from summer 2017. Since 2016 Christian Landau has been Professor of Strategic Management and member of the Management Group. In 2015 and 2016 Christian Landau was Visiting Scholar at the University of California at Berkeley and the Berkeley Research Group. Before being appointed to the EBS Business School in 2010 as Assistant Professor of Competitive Strategy, Christian Landau worked as a research assistant at the Technical University of Berlin and the Institute of Corporate Planning since 2005. In 2010, he completed his doctorate at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with his dissertation on value creation contributions of corporate headquarters and financial investors. Christian Landau studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technical University of Berlin, as well as Business Administration at Salisbury University and completed a General Studies degree at the Leibniz College in Tübingen.

Christian Landau’s research focuses on core issues of strategic management and related questions of innovation and technology management. In particular, he is interested in the dynamic capabilities of companies, business models, strategic and disruptive innovation, ecosystems, open innovation and crowdsourcing, and geographical aspects of strategy and innovation. His work has been published in international journals such as the Global Strategy Journal, Long Range Planning and R&D Management. Christian Landau serves as a reviewer for international conferences and journals, such as the Journal of Management.

At EBS Business School Christian Landau teaches courses in strategic management and management consultancy in various Master’s and Bachelor’s programmes. He also regularly teaches strategic management in the MBA programme at Tongji University in Shanghai. Christian Landau is also intensively involved in the design and implementation of executive education programmes.
