TUM School of Management
Christian Karpfinger (born July 27, 1968 in Straubing ) is a German mathematician .
After graduating from high school in 1992, Karpfinger studied mathematics and physics at the Technical University of Munich from 1992 to 1998 . From 1999 to 2002 he was a researcher at Heinz Wähling at the Technical University of Munich , where he in 2002 with the thesis About Rated Dicksonsche Almost body doctorate was.
In 2007 he received his habilitation for the subject of mathematics with the habilitation thesis Links arranged Fastkörper . In 2002 and 2005 Karpfinger was visiting professor at Tomsk State University . His research areas are arranged, valued and topological bodies , oblique bodies and almost bodies .
As a private lecturer and associate professor at the Technical University of Munich, Karpfinger teaches algebra , number theory , cryptology and engineering mathematics. He is the author or co-author of textbooks on these subjects.
He lives in the Schwabing district of Munich with his wife and two children.
