Maastricht School of Management
Dr. Catherine K. Tindiwensi holds a Doctor of Philosophy, a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Makerere University-Uganda. She is a University lecturer of Entrepreneurship with a special research focus on Entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector (Agripreneurship). She has conducted agribusiness related research and published in reputable journals; and won several awards for scholarship and participation in International Conferences. She won an award from NUFFIC-NICHE for training at the Maastricht School of Management-The Netherlands (2013); the SIDA award to participate in the Agri4D Uppsala, Sweden (2015); a Queen’s University Belfast award to participate in the Belfast Summit on Global Food Integrity (2018); an ERASMUS-ICM award for staff mobility at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences-Uppsala (2019) and was a member of the SIANI expert group on Agricultural Entrepreneurship 2019/2020.
Catherine is a seasoned Agribusiness Development Consultant with extensive experience working with the private sector, government, NGOs and Development Agencies in diverse agricultural value chains. Some of her International clients include the WorldBank, UNDP, UNHCR, FAO, IFAD, SNV, IGAD, Catholic Relief Services, Oxfam GB, AVSI Foundation, Broederlijk Delen, NUFFIC-NICHE, CARITAS, HORIZONT3000, KinderNotHilfr, DANIDA and USAID in addition to several national and regional clients. She uses the returns for both private and public good especially in fostering inclusive rural community projects that enhance social economic development. Her community development model entails a private sector driven collaborative arrangement that involves the University, Public institutions, Non-for profit organisation and Bottom of the Pyramid Players in development value chains. She envisages employing a market driven-partnering-Franchise model to manage growth and attain inclusive economic development.
