Biography

Sciences Po

Bruno Cousin is a sociologist, affiliated with CEE and the Cities are Back in Town research group of the Sciences Po Urban School, as well as the holder and scientific director of the Endowed Chair on Cities, Housing & Real Estate (starting February 2023).

He has conducted research and written on the transformations and inter-group relations within world metropolises, often focusing on inequality, segregation, social capital, and the practices and meaning-making processes of the wealthy.

Before re-joining Sciences Po, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University and was a maître de conférences at the University of Lille. As a comparative sociologist, he has held several visiting positions across Europe and the United States, and is currently an international faculty member of the UrbEur doctoral program of the University of Milan-Bicocca (Italy).

At Sciences Po, he is also the Department of sociology‘s Director of undergraduate studies, in charge of supervising and coordinating sociology courses on all seven campuses of the College.
