Biography

Beam leads a talented, nationally dispersed, mission team who connect innovators and create accelerated technological and cultural agility for the United States Air Force. He first joined the Air Force as an officer, and served 21 years in primarily strategic deterrence roles—ICBM launch officer, nuclear budget analyst, treaty officer. He also journeyed with the future leaders of the Air Force by instructing at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Prior to co-founding and leading AFWERX, Beam’s civil service duties involved developing new hypersonic and ICBM weapon options. Beam’s educational experiences include Organization Development, Design Thinking, Policy Analysis, Business via an MBA, Political Science, and a glorious adventure with his wife of 20+ years and 5 children.
