Biography

Dr. Dubuis brings almost 20 years of international experience in the field of life sciences, both in industry and in Research Institutes. He occupied different management positions in pharmaceutical companies, including Chemap, Ciba-Geigy/Novartis and Lonza. Benoît joined the EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) in 2000, as Licensing Executive and adviser for the school management. He established the School of Life Sciences and served as its first Dean. He also launched the BioAlps organization and founded Excellgene SA.

In 2004 he co-founded Eclosion, the first Swiss Life Sciences seed-fund and incubator where he serves as Director. Aiming the transformation of the strong regional potential for Life Sciences innovation into economic value and jobs, Eclosion offer researchers a full range of managerial and scientific support for their projects, from finance to validation resources.

Besides his professional activities, Benoît contributes to different non-for-profit organizations supporting the promotion and the understanding of Life Sciences. He serves as President of the BioAlps association and of the Swiss Life-Sciences Network Inartis and has published numerous articles and books in the field of Biotechnology, Life Sciences and Innovation.
