AnnMarie Papa, DNP, RN, CEN, NE-BC, FAEN, FAAN, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, has been honored by the Emergency Nurses Association with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Award honors a nurse whose career achievements reflect dedicated service, accomplishments, and contributions to emergency nursing that have value to emergency nursing beyond the recipient’s lifetime.

Papa has a long and distinguished career in nursing. Over the course of her career, she has assumed roles with expanded leadership from educator to manager, to director, to her current role as Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, a position she has held since 2014. She is also adjunct faculty at Villanova and Drexel Universities. Papa has mentored many dozens of student nurses across Pennsylvania, and every year she participates in a Student Nursing Leadership Workshop to help students find and develop their leadership potential.

She served as President of the Emergency Nurses Association in 2011. In this role she led a delegation to Cuba to research workplace violence; worked with a team of nurses to develop nursing standards in South Africa; represented emergency nursing on a number of American College of Emergency Physicians’ Committees; and presented at many conferences nationally and internationally. Papa holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Villanova University and a Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice from Waynesburg University in Pittsburgh. She is a Fellow in both the Academy of Emergency Nursing and the American Academy of Nursing.
