Biography

Sciences Po

Alexandra Endaltseva is a PhD in Social Sciences&Health (PhD, EHESS, 2020 jointly with Linköping University, Sweden) and a member of CERTOP (Rechearch Centre on Work, Organization, Power), UMR-CNRS 5044 conducting research in socio-anthropology for the project ANR SaletMieux. She is also an associated researcher at CEMS, EHESS, Paris, France. Alexandra studied at the Southern Federal University in Russia, then at Purdue University (USA), after which she entered and completed an Erasmus Joint Doctoral Program in Europe (EHESS, France and Linköping University, Sweden).

In the US she worked at the consumer protection campaigns; in Russia she has been teaching at the Faculty of Communication and Media at HSE University in Moscow; now she teaches Science and Society seminar at Sciences Po. Her research interests are positioned on the border of cultural anthropology and science and technology studies (STS) with a strong accent on feminist approaches to care and « figure of the knower ».

Research Topics

  • Food practices (ethnographic study exploring salting practices at home and the use of discretionary salt).
  • Embodiment in epistemic practices and collaborations (ethnographic collaborations ; affective work ; ethics of care ; body-technology-society dynamics ; research-creation).
  • Social movements of chronic patients and invisible work of maintenance (research on chronic composition : how to position with an illness while maintaining solidarity of place, and how to stay sensitive to the multiple time-spaces in the relationships of health and well-being).
