Alexander Thew

MAJ J. Alexander Thew serves as an Instructor of Economics at West Point. Alex commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2011 and has served on operational assignments with the 2d Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany and 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82d Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, including two deployments to Afghanistan. Alex holds a B.S. in nuclear engineering from the United States Military Academy and an M.B.A from the Yale School of Management. At Yale, Alex was selected as a Kerry Fellow and served as a research assistant to Professor Jeffrey A. Sonnenfeld. He and his wife, Elizabeth, enjoy international travel and adventure with their goldendoodle, Leo.
