Twenty seven years of experience in structural engineering with emphasis on offshore structures:

• Seismic design - Chairman of API SC2 Seismic Resource Group. Authored ISO 19901-2, API RP2EQ, and seismic sections in ISO 19902 and API RP2A.
• Offshore Structural Reliability - pipelines, offshore structures. Chairman of 2014 Offshore Structural Reliability Conference hosted by API in Houston, Texas.
• Arctic Engineering - ice criteria, sea ice load, iceberg loads, ice management. Nine arctic patent applications. Served on TP2D of WG8 developing ISO 19906
• Structural and foundation dynamics - Eight years of graduate studies and research in structural and foundation dynamics, earthquake engineering and finite element.
• Gravity base structures - seismic soil-structure interaction, seismic analysis and design of topside modules, iceberg load estimation, iceberg topside impact probability, GBS wave slamming pressures, wave slamming topside accelerations.
• Steel piled jackets - structural reassessment (strength, fatigue), retrofit and inspection planning. API Task Group 19 in charge of developing 2nd Edition of API RP2A LRFD
• Induced Seismicity - Formulated, as member of EM issue management team, an induced seismicity risk matrix for adoption by affiliates.
• Teaching - Five years of teaching experience at Rice University, Texas A&M and Cairo University.
• Experience using SACS, EDP (CAPSeaStar), ABAQUS, SHAKE, SASSI, SAP2000, Minitab, SAS. Familiar with API 2EQ, ISO 19901-2, API RP2A, ISO 19906, ASCE 7-10, ASCE 4-98 and ASCE 43-05.
