Biography
King’s Business School
Ylva lectures in Finance at King’s Business School. Her research and teaching interests are in behavioural finance, investment decision making and investment advice, with a special interest in gender and the interplay between financial advisors and investors. Prior to joining King’s, she was the Chief Executive Officer of Avenir Registrar, a fintech start-up, now an established securities registrar in the UK.
Ylva has a wealth of banking experience from running structured derivates businesses and managing investment portfolios of wealthy individuals at institutions such as Standard Chartered Bank, Coutts & Co and Morgan Stanley.
In 2018, she obtained her PhD in Finance from Cass Business School. She also holds an MSc in Relationship Therapy and a BA (Hons) in Finance. As a psychotherapist Ylva has a small practice dedicated to helping individuals and couples struggling with relationship difficulties. She holds two board positions in the charity sector where she acts as the Vice Chair of governors at Thornhill Primary School and as a Trustee of Citizens Advice Camden.
