Biography

Usa obtained her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from City University of London, United Kingdom and a Master of Science (MSc) in Management from National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. She attended an intensive program titled, "Program on Case Method and Participant-Centered Learning (PCMPCL)" at Harvard Business School, Boston, U.S.A. She has also successfully completed the 2012 Case Writing Workshop at Richard Ivey School of Business, The University of Western Ontario, London, Canada, and an executive program at Stanford University, California, U.S.A in 2014.

A Lecturer at NUS Business School, Usa teaches and facilitates learning for undergraduates and graduate students. Her courses include leadership & ethics, human relations, human resources, management & organization. In addition, she supports clients of NUS Office of Executive Education by developing and facilitating customized workshops in areas of leadership development and team performance. Her clients include Asahi Glass, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Supply Chain, General Electric, Nipponkoa Sompo Japan (NKSJ), Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), L’Oreal, PT KALBE Farma, Qidayat, etc.

Prior to joining the university, she worked as a Consultant/Trainer with Mercuri International, an international business and sales consulting firm. A Senior Associate Consultant and an academic, Usa continues her regional consulting and skills development work. She has conducted numerous development and management workshops for participants from a wide spectrum of industries. Her clients include BASF, Berli Jucker, BIC Products, Bosch Power Tools, Cognis, Diethelm, Essilor, Grundfos, Jotun, Komatsu, Kuehne & Nagel, KSB, MINDEF, Norvatis, Pacific Foods, Samsung Electronics, Shangrila Hotel, Tech Pacific, TNT Express Worldwide, Volvo (Truck and Bus), etc.

She is a certified practitioner of the HBDI TM (Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument), a thinking style assessment tool which identifies an individual's preferred approach to emotional, analytical, structural and strategic thinking. She is also a certified practitioner and interpreter of the SHL assessment products and tools for people performance improvement and Thomas DISC Personal Profile Analysis. Her 360 feedback focus groups and coaching include participants from Nestle Global Team, Asahi Glass, Bridgestone, CA Technologies, DHL, Jones Lang LaSalle, Telkom, etc. She was a guest speaker on cross- cultural training program organized by FGI (Family Group International) of Toronto and Bennett and AssociatesInc., Chicago.

Her research interests are in the areas of training & development and learning. She has researched and published papers on the effectiveness of training interventions.
