Robert C. Stowe, Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy, is Executive Director of the Harvard Environmental Economics Program, which develops innovative answers to complex environmental issues, by providing a venue to bring together faculty and graduate students from across Harvard University engaged in research, teaching, and outreach in environmental and natural resource economics and related public policy. Rob is also Co-Director of the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements. In that role, he coordinates and conducts research that helps identify and advance scientifically sound, economically sensible, and politically pragmatic public policy options for addressing global climate change. Rob has been engaged through the Harvard Project in the annual Conferences of the Parties (COPs) of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) since 2007. He was a Contributing Author to a chapter on international cooperation in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Fifth Assessment Report. Rob has worked in non-profit, academic, and business organizations, including as Vice President of Programs of the Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs, which provides assistance in agriculture and agribusiness to developing countries, and as a consultant to the World Bank and other organizations on agricultural management projects. Rob holds a Ph.D. in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an A.B. in physics from Harvard College.
