Business experience

Robert Mowbray is a chartered accountant with over 30 years’ experience of setting up and running successful businesses in addition to advising many of his clients on commercial issues. Having trained at Price Waterhouse he went on to be a partner in a major accounting firm for 20 years before setting up his own training business 10 years ago. He has worked through periods of economic growth and contraction and understands what businesses need to do to remain secure while attempting to grow. He has advised clients on a range of issues including strategy, the design and use of management information, business efficiency and pricing.

Professional credentials and training experience

Robert has delivered financial training courses for over 30 years and has worked in over 40 countries. He understands different cultures and enjoys working internationally with varied groups. He has been voted trainer of the year in the legal sector and has worked with nearly all of the major law firms. He wrote the first book on law firms as businesses called “Maximising the Profitability of Law Firms” and he is the author of the annual RBS financial benchmarking survey on the UK legal sector which is the largest annual review of the sector. Robert has a chemistry degree from Southampton University and is always particularly interested in working businesses in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
