Biography

-

As a member of our teacher team, Rebecca co-facilitates offerings in our public training program, focusing on Coaching Skills for Leaders, Facilitation Skills: Creating Powerful and Purposeful Meetings and Conflict Resolution with Power and Privilege in Mind.

Rebecca has spent over 20 years in the nonprofit, social impact sector. Deeply passionate about doing work that matters, Rebecca began her own coaching and consulting practice in the early 2000s and has been on an entrepreneurial path ever since. She partners (often over multiple years) with nonprofit organizations, foundations, and mission-driven businesses doing work in public health, education reform, youth development, and racial justice, and has a special interest in anything intersectional and cross-disciplinary. Most recently, Rebecca has developed her own cohort program model, Authentic Solidarity, that supports white-identified social justice leaders in confronting whiteness, privilege, and bias so they can show up for People of Color.

One of the earliest questions that propelled her social justice work is an insatiable quest to understand what prompts human beings to turn towards each other in love and mutual support and what drives them apart and allows people to stand by while others suffer.

Rebecca’s greatest joy and deepest moments of growth have come from her journey mothering two, now teenage, children. When not coaching, facilitating, or teaching, Rebecca can be found lost in a novel, immersed in a great Netflix series, working on a blog post, or on any makeshift dance floor—at a party, in a park, a studio, a club, or her living room.
