Assistant Professor

Pavlo holds a PhD and an MBA from Concordia University. His research on various aspects of corporate governance and executive compensation has been published in Strategic Management Journal and The Accounting Review, among other journals, and received extensive coverage in Forbes, Business Week, The Globe and Mail and other popular media. Pavlo’s current research interests also cover the areas of CSR reporting, sustainability accounting and accountability.

At the Smith School of Business, Pavlo teaches management and cost accounting. Prior to joining Queen’s, Pavlo was on the faculty at the University of Ottawa and McGill University, performed management consulting services, and worked in the private sector.

Beyond research and teaching, Pavlo is actively involved in a variety of social and creative projects in the area of sustainability. Pavlo is the author of popular transit maps of Montreal and Toronto that display walking times between subway stations, encouraging transit users to use the most sustainable, healthy and economical mode of transportation – walking.
