Biography

Patrick McWhinney is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Insight Partners and Insight Collaborative. Synthesizing executive and academic experience, Mr. McWhinney works with an extensive client base, providing consulting and training services to corporate executives, professionals and government officials worldwide. He specializes in advising corporate executives on negotiation in the financial services, pharmaceutical, insurance and technology sectors.

Mr. McWhinney is recognized as an international expert in mediation, negotiation and conflict management, and is a special advisor to the Chief Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Mr. McWhinney has held positions as adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law School and Northeastern University. He is a former Training Co-director of the Harvard Mediation Program and a former Associate at Stitt Feld Handy Houston ADR Ltd. A Canadian who speaks proficient German and conversational Japanese, he earned a bachelor’s degree at McGill University and a master’s degree from Harvard, focusing on conflict management and alternative dispute resolution through the Harvard Negotiation Program.

Mr. McWhinney was recently nominated as a 2009 Young Global Leader (YGL), an honor bestowed by the World Economic Forum recognizing two hundred distinguished leaders under the age of 40 from around the world. He will be collaborating with other YGL members to develop, design and implement humanitarian initiatives to positively impact global change.
