Biography

Michelle Gigowski Caplan is an instructor in the Department of Management & Entrepreneurship at the Driehaus College of Business. Caplan also works full-time at Thermo Fisher Scientific where she maintains the role of strategic account executive and partners with health systems across the Midwest region of the U.S. to build sustainable efficiencies in the laboratory to ultimately improve health system and patient outcomes.

Caplan has held roles leading finance, business analytics and strategic planning initiatives at the ImmunoDiagnostics Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Before working at Thermo Fisher Scientific, a life science S&P 100 company, Caplan managed operations at both a durable medical equipment company and an ambulatory surgery center.

Caplan is currently pursuing her doctorate in business administration at DePaul University with graduation anticipated in June 2022. Her research interests include topics across environmental, social and corporate governance policy, strategic management and teams.
