Prof. Dr. Michael Rossbach (*1978), is a seasoned life and health sciences professional, with expertise in immunology, diagnostics, cell-based therapeutics, neuroscience and genomics.

Michael holds academic appointments at the National University of Singapore (NUS), at the German Institute of Science and Technology (TUM Asia) in Singapore, at INSEAD Management School (Entrepreneur-in-Residence) and he is professor and a member of the Faculty of the Witten School of Management (Witten Group, Germany).

Since August 2019, Michael joined the Eppendorf Group as the Head of Technology Scouting. Prior to that, from 2016 on, Michael was the VP Global Pharma Partnering of Vela Diagnostics (Singapore/Germany/USA) and worked on clinical and molecular diagnostics (NGS and qPCR-based) to advance precision medicine. Prior to joining Vela Diagnostics, Michael served as Director for Strategic Alliances at the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) for many years. Prior to his GIS appointment, Michael was a group leader at the Institute of Reconstructive Neurobiology, University of Bonn (Germany), and the Business Development Manager of LIFE&BRAIN, a translational incubator in neuroscience.

Michael is the Founder of Ikxinta – Advisers in Health and Life Sciences in Singapore, Associate of the Biotech Developpement Conseils in Paris, Partner of Ryan-Kay Sarl in Switzerland, Partner of the Höppner Life Sciences Management Group, and Partner of the healthcare team of The Center for Innovation Commercialization LLC (CICL) in the US. Michael serves on Advisory Boards and Boards of several biotech companies and on the Investment Committees of investment companies and family offices in Europe and Asia.

Michael studied biochemistry (PhD in immunology) at the University of Bonn (Germany), at the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia), at the University of Witten/Herdecke (Witten, Germany), at Max-Planck Institute for molecular Physiology (Dortmund, Germany) and at Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA).

His scientific interest lies in genomics/diagnostics and complex gene regulation (particularly in non-coding RNAs), stem cell biology (neuro and regenerative medicine), and in tumor-immunology.
