Academy Leadership
Michael is an experienced executive with over 25 years of commercial and DoD computer technology and product development experience at companies that include IBM, VaST Systems, Dell, and The MITRE Corporation. He has led engineering and project teams as large as 400 people with project budgets of $100M/year in the development of systems, multicore microprocessors, software, and technical standards; and helped define and manage global multi-company technology joint ventures and partnerships. As an Academy Leadership Affiliate, Michael utilizes his wealth of team leadership experience to help his clients become highly effective leaders who deliver greater results for their organizations.
Michael graduated from the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. After being commissioned an officer in the United State Navy he attended the Navy's prestigious and highly technical Naval Nuclear Power Officer School and then served as a Division Officer in the Navy's nuclear submarine force where he directed ship operations of a nuclear attack submarine at-sea and in-port including management of a major ship overhaul. He has an MBA from the University of Texas in Austin, a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP™).
