Marissa Lessman is writer currently based in Chicago. She has had work (theatrical/film/television) produced in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. She was recently a staff writer at Second City, Hollywood and has had the esteemed privilege of writing for such television shows as “Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!” and “Intern Diaries” (premiering on Youtube.) Since then she has graduated with honors from Depaul University's prestigious screenwriting school with a M.F.A. She has studied improv and sketch writing at the world famous Groundlings Theatre and Improv Olympic in Chicago.

She was the head writer for the critically acclaimed news website WTFPlanet.com. She is currently a resident playwright at Lookingglass Theatre, working on a confidential book project with Fineprint Literary Management, and pitching her pilots like crazy! Last, but not least, She is a five time award winning screenwriter, claiming awards from the prestigious Houston-Worldfest International Film Festival script competition, as well as honors from The Chandler International Film Festival, Women in Film Finishing Competition, American Zoetrope Script Festival, and London International Film Festival just to name a few.

Her feature film,"Phil" ,has also managed to catch the attention of Chicago Classics Magazine, "No Coast Cinema" podcast, as well as the infamous Hollywood Blacklist. Currently she is the head writer for an untitled drama for USTV, debuting on YoutubeTV this summer. Proudly represented by Valencia Talent Management and Asterino Entertainment.
