Marianne Broadbent

Dr Marianne Broadbent is a leadership and executive search consultant who works every day with women and men making career decisions and life choices.

She has been working in the leadership, management and strategy areas for over 20 years, with a particular emphasis working with organisations to shape and develop contemporary leadership and agile leaders.

Dr Broadbent’s background includes both global business executive roles and top level Business School leadership. As Senior Vice President for New Product Development at Gartner Inc., she was a key executive in the turnaround of the performance of Gartner’s Research business. Earlier as Group Vice President for Gartner’s CIO Executive Programs, she led the global team responsible for developing practice-based advice and research for executives, and part of the team that sustained growth of over 25 percent per year for five years. She was also named a ‘Gartner Fellow’.

Dr Broadbent has been Associate Dean and Chair of Management at Melbourne Business School (MBS), University of Melbourne, visiting researcher at Boston University’s School of Management and completed groundbreaking industry focused research on governance with faculty at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Her previous work has been widely published, she is the author of two Harvard Business School Press best sellers, and a sought after speaker and facilitator.

Dr. Broadbent is a Distinguished Academic Fellow of Melbourne Business School, has been a Finalist in the Telstra Business Women of the Year, and she is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Library and Information Association. She also serves on a number of Boards.

More recently she authored, The Agile Executive: Embracing Career Risks and Rewards, which uses insights from her experience to demonstrate how to build and sustain great talent.
