An international career journey which includes banking and finance, talent management, entrepreneurship and higher education senior leadership and teaching. Passionate about learning and development of people to push for better understanding of business, collaboration and innovation.
After completing postgraduate degrees at Utrecht University, Newcastle University (English, medieval linguistics, programming), Durham University Business School, (MBA), Marc joined Barclays Group. Roles in credit management, private equity, corporate finance, across the UK and in Australia. He redesigned Barclays talent management and recruitment process, and was invited to do the same for Merrill Lynch Europe as VP talent recruitment. Following a period of entrepreneurship in retail and publishing, a third professional phase in higher education include leadership roles at Leeds University Business School, Rotterdam School of Management and IE Business School. These roles focused on business development and product design, financial and business development, and matrix team management in the delivery of high volume, complex processes. Growth and innovation have been key in these HE challenges, reflected by a changing world and needs of recruiters.
Marc’s current role at IE is academic dean of the Business Bachelor portfolio, as vice dean of IE Business School. The IE Business Bachelor has doubled in size in the last three years and is now a substantial part of the University measured in faculty, revenue, students, corporate impact and reputation for high quality multicultural education.
