Biography

Luis Rojo obtained a degree in architecture from the School of Architecture of Madrid in 1987, were he has been teaching design since 1992. He is currently Ph D Professor at the Department of Architecture, teaching design studios at the undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as Labs and Workshops at the Master for Advanced Architecture program. He is currently the Academic Coordinator of the Master MPAA Program at the Architecture Department, as well as member of the Academic Commission of the Ph D Program.

In 1988 he received a Fulbright Fellowship for the completion of a Master in Architecture at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, which he obtained in June 1989.

Rojo obtained a Ph D in Architecture from the Architecture Department at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, with a dissertation on the contaminations of Le Corbusier’s discourse with the instruments of Surrealism during the 1920’s. The investigation gave place to the book ‘Le Corbusier and Surrealism. Paris 1920-1930’, published by Textos de Arquitectura y Diseño, Buenos Aires.

After working in several leading architectural firms in Spain and the United States, including Rafael Moneo’s Office (Madrid, Spain), Peter Eisenman (NY, USA) and I.A. Pei, Cobb Freid and Partners (NY, USA), Luis Rojo founded RFS Architects, his own architectural office in partnership with Begoña Fernández-Shaw (architect, Madrid 87, Cornell 89).
