Louellen Essex

Louellen Essex is an Educator in the Carlson Executive Educator’s Network at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Dr. Essex focuses on training and organizational development, leadership, communication, team building and conflict resolution. She holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota where she studied administration, psychology, and communication. For over twenty years, she has worked extensively with private industry, government, health care organizations, and educational institutions, including Fortune 500 companies. Dr. Essex is a recipient of an American Society for Training and Development Professional Excellence Award for her work in management development. She has co-authored three books on leadership and published numerous articles in professional journals, including Leader-to-Leader, Training and Development, and OD Practitioner.
