Alberta School of Business

Nearly 40 years of experience with AARD in agronomic extension, research and policy development plus extensive knowledge of soil science and agronomy. My main focus is minimizing the impacts of agriculture on the environment and optimization of sustainable crop production systems. My research and extension experience and collaboration includes soil fertility, nutrient management, crop nutrition, soil test calibration, fertilizer recommendations, fertilizer crop response modeling, nutrient dynamics on variable landscapes for precision farming, greenhouse emissions mitigation from fertilizer and manure management, crop adaptation modeling, environmental footprint of agriculture though life-cycle analysis and the development of the Alberta Farm Fertilizer Information and Recommendation Manager (AFFIRM), a Decision Support Software to assist with farm fertilizer optimization for producers.
