Khe Foon Timothy Hew

I am an Associate Professor of Education at the University of Hong Kong. My research primarily focuses on online pedagogy, instructional design, and e-learning/blended-learning environments. To date, I have published more than 80 peer-reviewed journal articles. Out of these articles, 55 were published in ISI-listed (Web of Science) journals. I have also published two scholarly books as first and corresponding authors.

My research has made a significant impact worldwide in terms of international attention. As of May 1, 2018, my validated total citations were more than 7,100 (Google Scholar). Currently, I am the only faculty member in the Faculty of Education HKU to be listed as the top 1% scholars in my field for three consecutive years (2015, 2016, 2017). I have a total of 9 research projects as a Principal/Co-Principal Investigator amounting over HK$4 million. In addition, I have a total of 3 research projects amounting over HK$13 million as a Co-Investigator.

Hitherto, I have won more than 17 types of international recognitions and awards. These include various best paper awards, top 1% scholar recognitions, and highly-cited or most-cited article recognitions. To date, I have successfully mentored more than 23 Master and Doctoral students to publish their dissertations and/or independent projects. This amounted to more than 34 publications.
