Kathleen Panoff came to the University of Texas at Austin in August 2009 after a 25-year career in arts management. Prior to serving as director and associate dean of Texas Performing Arts at the University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Panoff worked for more than a decade as the founding director of the Modlin Center for the Arts at the University of Richmond, where she presented and commissioned highly acclaimed national and international performances, including the Pulitzer Prize winning Double Sextet by Steve Reich. As Director and Associate Dean of Texas Performing Arts, Ms. Panoff has expanded the scope of the performing arts season, doubled the number of student employees and achieved the highest student attendance rate of any university presenter in the nation. Under her leadership Texas Performing Arts has received two large grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and become an active commissioner of new work including works by Nico Muhly, Glenn Kotche, Steve Mackey, John Luther Adams, Dan Welcher, Kevin Puts, Laurie Anderson and the Kronos Quartet. Ms. Panoff is also teaches both upper division undergraduate and graduate courses in arts management. Ms. Panoff holds B.M. and M.M. degrees in music education and conducting, from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music.
