Dr. John Kurtz is professor of psychology at Villanova University in suburban Philadelphia, where he has served on the faculty since 1996. He teaches courses in clinical psychology, personality theory, psychological testing, and the history of modern psychology. Dr. Kurtz is also a licensed psychologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 1997.

He has provided clinical assessment and consultation services in the evaluation of dementia, attention and learning disorders, and reproductive medicine. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society for Personality Assessment. He has served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Personality Assessment and on the editorial boards of Assessment and the Journal of Personality Assessment. Dr. Kurtz is former president of Section IX, Assessment Psychology, of the Society of Clinical Psychology, Division 12 of APA.
