Joanna Gebala

Joanna Gebala is an adjunct professor in the College of Communication with a focus on health communication, healthcare teams and leadership. She currently serves as a multi-site manager for Physicians Immediate Care. Joanna holds previous experience in healthcare administration at Lurie Children’s Hospital, and has previously worked for DePaul as the assistant director for nursing education. During her time at DePaul she was involved with organizations such as Service Immersion, DePaul Polish Student Alliance, and served as a Chicago Quarter Mentor for the first year student program.

Joanna’s research interests include healthcare teams and organizations, as well as interpersonal communication in the clinical context and its impact on health outcomes and behaviors.
