Jeroen Sempel

"On the edge of business and science" is my motto for professional life, applying strategic and financial models developed by knowledge institutes in the world of business startups and innovative technology companies. I believe in creating together, on the job and in concrete projects, with a fresh look and lots of energy.

After completing my Industrial Engineering studies at the University of Twente in 1988, I worked for more than 20 years as a lecturer and director of the University of Twente and Twente School of Management, the business school initiated by the university. Between 2000 and 2013, I was responsible for the design and execution of the TSM Executive MBA and In-Company programs.

Since 2013, I've worked as an independent academic lecturer and developer in strategy, finance, and innovation for companies like Booking.com, Exact Business Software, VINCI Energies, Boskalis, Heijmans, and KroeseWevers Accountants & Tax Consultants.

My passion for education and students still connects me for one day per week to the Universities of Twente and Groningen to bring the real world of startups and technology companies into the classroom. My scientific work focuses on the financial analysis and funding of startups. How can we support starting entrepreneurs?
